You want families to understand your work. That does not mean every person who receives your biodata needs your salary.

A marriage biodata can describe your education, career and location without including an income figure. You can discuss income later, when both families want to continue the conversation.

ShareLync now lets you show Education, Career and Annual Income separately in each sharing view. This guide explains how to choose what to share and check the link before sending it.

Does a Marriage Biodata Need Your Salary?

There is no single rule for every family. Some families want an income range early. Others prefer to discuss finances after an introduction.

Choose what you are comfortable sharing. If you create the biodata for someone else, ask them before adding their income.

The useful question is: what does this family need to know at this stage? A first introduction may need your role and city. A later conversation may need more detail about work and future plans.

Leaving income out is different from giving an inaccurate figure. Do not invent a salary or increase it to create a better impression.

For help with the career section, read our biodata guide for working professionals.

Three Ways to Present Income

Leave income out of the first introduction

You can still describe your work clearly:

Software engineer based in Pune. I work on business software and plan to continue working after marriage.

This gives the family useful context without sharing a number. Your education, work location and career plans can start the conversation.

Use a range when you choose to disclose income

In a written biodata, a range can give context without listing an exact amount. State whether the range is monthly or annual.

For example, “Annual income: ₹12–15 lakh” is clearer than “Income: 12–15”. Use only a range that reflects your circumstances.

If you live abroad, state the currency. Avoid converting a foreign salary into rupees without explaining where you live. See our NRI biodata guide.

Discuss income later

You can write:

I am happy to discuss work and financial plans when our families speak.

Keep the wording simple. Explain your choice when asked, and decide together what to share next.

How to Share Your Career Without Your Income in ShareLync

A view is a sharing version of your biodata with its own link. You choose which sections appear on that link.

The Education, Career and Annual Income switches are separate. You can keep your qualifications and job visible while leaving income out.

Step 1: Open Versions

Open the ShareLync app. On your biodata card, find Versions and tap Manage. This entry is available even when you have one view.

Step 2: Create a view for the first introduction

Tap New View. Give it a name you can recognise, such as “First introduction”. Select the sections you want to share.

Step 3: Keep Education and Career on

Turn on Education and Career if you want to include those details. Leave Annual Income off.

Also review Photos, Contact Details and the other sections. A name such as “First introduction” does not decide visibility for you.

Step 4: Save and check the link

Tap Save & Get Link. Wait for the save to finish. Open the resulting link in a browser and check the displayed details.

Confirm that your education and career appear, and that Annual Income does not appear. Then share this specific link with the family.

Hiding Annual Income affects that view. It does not remove income from your saved biodata or hide it on every other link.

What About a Link You Already Shared?

If an existing view includes income, open Versions → Manage and use that view's Edit action. Switch off Annual Income and tap Save Changes.

If the app asks you to confirm an edit to a shared view, confirm the change. Open the same link again after saving.

Older views keep their previous visibility settings. Updating the app or creating a new view does not automatically hide income on an old link.

Check every link you still share. A family with a different, more detailed link can still see the sections enabled on that link.

You can pause a view if you want to stop access through it. Pausing a link cannot remove a screenshot or PDF someone already saved.

For a broader sharing checklist, read how to share a biodata without losing control.

Check More Than the Income Field

The Annual Income switch controls the income section. Check whether you also wrote a salary in About Me, career details or another visible section.

A photo or attached document can also contain information you did not intend to share. Review what the recipient can see on the finished link.

Before sending it, check:

  • The link belongs to the view you intend to share.
  • Annual Income is off if you want it hidden.
  • Other visible text does not repeat your salary.
  • Contact details and photos follow your choices.
  • Any older links still in use have the settings you want.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I show my job without showing my salary?

Yes. In ShareLync, Career and Annual Income have separate switches in each view. Keep Career on and Annual Income off, then save and check the link.

Will hiding income delete it from my biodata?

No. The switch controls what appears on that view. Your saved biodata retains the information, and other views keep their own settings.

Does a new private view change a link I already sent?

No. A new view has a separate link. Edit the existing view if you want to change what appears on a previously shared link.

Can a family still save information from my link?

A viewer may copy information or capture the screen. Share only details you are comfortable showing. Pausing a link stops access through that link, but cannot erase external copies.

Should I include income when creating a biodata for a relative?

Ask the person first. Agree on the details to include and who should receive each sharing version before sending the link.

Share the Details You Choose

Your biodata can explain your education and career without making your income part of every first introduction.

Create the view, check the link and share the version that fits the conversation.
